On Friday, Micromax Bharat 5 was launched in India as the latest affordable 4G smartphone from an Indian brand. Along with its low price segment, the major highlight of Bharat 5 is its giant 5000 mAh battery. It also comes with bundled data offer with Vodafone as part of its partnership. The smartphone will be available only via offline stores in India. At its launch event, the company will introduce more smartphone in Bharat series, as Bharat 5 Pro and Bharat 5 Plus are also scheduled to come within the next few months. The company is planning to sell up to 6 million smartphones of Bharat Series by March 2018.

With 5000mAh battery, the smartphone is a vital deal for India where tier 3 and tier 4 cities still have issues with a power cut.

Micromax Bharat 5 has been priced at fixed Rs. 5,555 in India and it will be available via all offline stores in India. When it comes to price, it gives a strong competition to Xiaomi Redmi 5A which provides better features, when leaving battery aside. When it comes to launching offers, Micromax has officially confirmed that all new and existing Vodafone customers can avail extra 10GB data per month with a 1GB pack for 5 months, which sums up to 50GB of extra data.

Micromax Bharat 5 – Key Specs

Micromax Bharat 5 dual-sim phone runs on Android Nougat, and sports 5.2” (720x1280p) HD display. Powered by 1.3GHz quad-core SoC coupled with 1GB DDR3 RAM, the smartphone has 5MP cameras on both front and back with LED Flash.

Micromax has added inbuilt storage of 16GB which is expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD card. Connectivity options cover Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, FM Radio, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm Audio Jack.
